DCD2 was founded in the famously glamorous venue of Pete’s parent’s attic in Wilmette, Illinois. The idea was based on creating a band of weirdos who perpetrated anarchist antics without permission. Upon discovering Panic! At the Disco, The Academy Is, and Gym Class Heroes, Pete realized he needed an ally to take the bands to the next level and partnered with fueled by ramen records. DCD2 sought to expand its own independent and unique place in the world - in turn, expanding the label’s partnerships. From there, DCD2 not only continued to work with partners, but also broke out on its own while signing The Cab, Hey Monday, Tyga, Max, and New Politics. Currently, DCD2 is home to Panic at the Disco!, CARR, Quinton Griggs, Games We Play, and nothing, nowhere as the label ushers in the next generation of diamonds in the rough - without removing the rough. We strongly believes in finding and encouraging bands that go left when the industry goes right - he’s not into easy sells. In the words of famous misfit Kurt Cobain, “come as you are” because that’s just the way we like you.
